Nobody is pricing the tail risk in PLTR. Everyone models the base case and the bull case. Nobody models the black swan. Palantir Technologies has concentrated exposure to risks that are low probability but high impact. Regulatory action. Supply chain disruption. Key person dependency. Any one of these hitting would reprice the stock 30 to 50 percent overnight. The probability is low. The impact is catastrophic. When you are priced for perfection the tail risk is where the real danger lives. I am hedging my long exposure with out of the money puts. Insurance is cheap when nothing is going wrong.

can someone explain to me why this trades at 60x revenue without being sarcastic. i get the aip narrative. commercial rev growing 40%. but 60x revenue requires perfection for a decade

R
RobLee🐂 Alcista84d

@first_post_99 because they are the only pure play ai data infrastructure company with government contracts and a proven commercial product. you pay a premium for that. disagree but i understand the bull case

karp selling shares every quarter. the ceo is consistently taking money off the table. product might be great but insider selling is insider selling

AIP bootcamps are converting to real contracts. The commercial revenue growth at 40%+ is finally here. Government revenue is lumpy but commercial is the story now.

Trading at 60x revenue. Sixty times revenue. I get the AI narrative but that multiple requires perfection for a decade. If they miss one quarter this thing drops 30%.

Karp selling shares regularly. Not a great signal when the CEO is consistently taking money off the table. The product is good but insider selling is insider selling.

PLTR government contracts are sticky as hell. Once you're embedded in defense and intel systems you don't get replaced. Commercial is growing 30%+. This is a 100B company in 5 years, mark my words.

PLTR at 200x revenue is the most overvalued stock in the market. Government contracts are low margin. Commercial growth is mostly consulting revenue dressed up as software. This is a 15 stock.

Okay I'll say what a lot of people are thinking but won't post - PLTR is priced for absolute perfection right now and that makes me genuinely nervous. We're talking about a stock sitting at something like 200x forward earnings. That's not a growth premium, that's a "nothing can ever go wrong" premium. And with VIX starting to creep back up and macro still shaky (rate cuts keep getting pushed back), the margin for error here is basically zero. Yes the government contract wins are real. Yes the AIP commercial momentum is real. I'm not saying the company is garbage - I'm saying the price is doing a lot of heavy lifting that the fundamentals haven't earned yet. One rough quarter, one contract delay, one risk-off macro event and this thing could reprice violently. So here's what I actually want to know: with PLTR trading at ~200x forward earnings, what's the single biggest thing bulls and bears disagree on that isn't just "AI will be huge eventually"?

Alright I'll be the guy who says it - PLTR is priced like it already won the AI arms race and I'm not buying it (literally). Stock's hovering near 28x sales while the broader tech complex is getting squeezed by a stronger dollar and a yield curve that's still screaming "tighten up." When real rates stay elevated, long-duration growth names get punished. That's just macro 101. And right now Powell isn't cutting anyone any slack. Yeah the government contract wins look flashy. Yeah AIP is getting buzz. But the market's rotating hard into value and cyclicals - I'm watching institutional flows and they're not exactly piling into unprofitable SaaS plays right now. PLTR's stock-based compensation has consistently eaten 20-30% of revenue. That's not a footnote, that's a business model question. So with SBC running near 20% of revenue, which line on PLTR's income statement actually worries you most - and does that number change your price target?

Alright, I'll say what a lot of you don't want to hear - PLTR's chart looks exhausted up here. Yes the breakout above $80 was clean, RSI was confirming, momentum looked real. But now we're sitting at 600+ PE and the stock's barely holding its 20-day MA after that recent stall. Every time retail gets excited about the AI narrative, the volume dries up a day later. That's not institutional accumulation - that looks like distribution to me. I'm watching the $78 support hard right now. One bad session and that level gets tested, and if it cracks, the 50-day is all the way down near $68. That's a painful gap. Here's what I can't figure out though - insiders haven't exactly been loading up, and the big institutional filings haven't shown the kind of conviction you'd expect at these prices. So if PLTR's sitting at a 600x PE with insiders staying quiet, what are the institutional flows actually telling us that the retail momentum crowd is completely ignoring?

PLTR's 43x revenue multiple gets thrown around like it's automatically a death sentence, but I think the bears are miscounting what they're actually paying for. IV's been elevated (sitting around 65-70% lately), which tells me the market's pricing in serious uncertainty - but uncertainty cuts both ways. I've been watching the $22-24 strike puts get bid up consistently, which usually means institutional hedging, not conviction shorting. Here's what bugs me: everyone keeps anchoring to that multiple like PLTR is a SaaS company selling HR software. Their US commercial revenue grew 55% YoY last quarter. That's not a stretched valuation story - that's a compounding growth story that the multiple might actually be earning. I'm not saying load up calls here. The risk/reward on earnings plays is genuinely messy right now and I'd want to see delta stabilize before sizing up. But with US commercial revenue compounding at 55%, what's the one thing bears are consistently getting wrong when they call this stock overvalued?
